Maldon Shed featured in Strengthening Communities Film

Maldon Shedder Brian has been featured in a film made by Postcode films for the Essex Strengthening Communities Programmes Board.

The film is one of a series  that have been created to highlight the importance of community-led initiatives and of public, community and voluntary sector partners working together with communities.

Essex Shed Network Launched

The Essex Shed Network was launched on the 8th of September 2016 at Essex County Cricket Club

Councillor Anne Brown, Cabinet Member for Corporate, Communities and Customers at Essex County Council opened the event with a welcoming address introducing a film commissioned by the Council featuring Maldon Shedder Brian.

UK Mens Shed Association Chair Mr Mike Jenn followed providing an overview of the history of Sheds and their development across the UK. Finally Essex Shed Network Coordinator, Hamish Macdiarmid introduced the Essex Shed Network with an overview of the aims and vision for the Netesnlddbwork.

Following a networking brunch local craftswoman Deb Hart provided a willow weaving demonstration for those present. Feedback on the whole event was positive with new connections made and potential Sheds and Shedders identified.

Following the launch Councillor Anne Brown, Maldon Shed Chair, Phil Kinsman and  Essex Shed Network Coordinator Hamish were interviewed by Dave Monk on BBC Radio Essex.
