Have you made friends at your Shed?

If so we want to hear more about those friendships and any other support you have had through your Shed: we’re inviting Shedders to come along to one of three focus groups* that we have arranged to tell us all about it over a tea/coffee. We’ll cover travel expenses and give each attendee a £10 Wickes voucher to show our appreciation for giving up your time.

The Focus Groups are being held as follows:

  • Maldon and District CVS offices, Holloway Road, Heybridge, CM9 4ER, on Monday 25th February 2019, 1.15pm for 1.30-2.30pm
  • Trust Links Community Shed, The Green House, Kiln Road, Thundersley, SS7 1TF on Tuesday 26th February, 10-11am.
  • Little Canfield Shed, Blatches Gate, Church Lane, Little Canfield, CM6  1SR, on Thursday 28th February 2019, 1-2pm

If you are interested in taking part or have further questions then please contact either Gary or Catherine on 01621 851891 or email esn@maldoncvs.org.uk

*In April 2019 the Essex Shed Network needs to report on its third year to its funders. In order to show them how well the Network is doing, we need to collect some information through organised focus groups.

The focus groups will consist of an approximately 1 hour group meeting with 5-6 individual Shedders to ask questions about the friendships/support they have experienced at their Shed.

The meeting will be facilitated by MDCVS Projects Officer & social researcher Catherine Kennelly and Essex Shed Network Communications Coordinator Gary Nicholas.

The meeting’s discussion will be audio-recorded and transcribed for analysis. The taped meeting will only be listened to and transcribed by the Projects Officer. Quotes will be used to highlight the key themes emerging from the discussions but no names will be used to protect the individuals right to anonymity.

You will be asked to sign a written consent form stating that you give permission for your information to be recorded and used in the report. However you can change your mind at any point up to submission of the final report.

All the information collected will be stored in line with current data protection legislation.
